Veterans day events set

Veteran’s Day observances are set for Monday, Nov. 11, at both the Montague County Courthouse Annex and Nocona High School to recognize the service and sacrifice for the millions of soldiers and their families involved in World War I and other armed conflicts since.

The Montague County Veterans Service Office will sponsor a special Veterans Day program on Monday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. in the Montague County Courthouse Annex.

All veterans, their spouses and their families are invited to attend and be recognized for their great service to this nation.

Nocona High School will host a Veterans Day Assembly on Monday, Nov. 11, beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the High School Auditorium.

A reception honoring veterans and their families will follow immediately after the assembly in the High School Library.

The Nocona High School Concert Band will perform the National Anthem as well as the march of the armed forces.

Students will recount the story of the Armistice and the signing on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of 1918.
