Lady Indians win Nocona XC Meet

From the start the Lady Indians ran together to win their meet Thursday at Indian Oaks Golf Course.

Running in what may have been the first ever cross country meet at Indian Oaks Golf Course Thursday, the Nocona Lady Indians led by Kylie Rose, captured the varsity girls’ team title placing four runners in the top five.

Rose turned in a time of 13:23.1 over the 2-kilometer course while teammate Raylee Sparkman was one place behind in a time of 13:46.5 as Nocona bested Alvord and Petrolia for the team title with 27 points to 33 and 73.

Nocona’s Madilyn Ferguson and Claudia Espinoza came in fourth and fifth in times of 14:32.3 and 13:33.9 while Natalie Pirkey rounded out the scoring places in a time of 17:57.2 in 15th place with teammate Jenna McBride a place behind in a time of 18:53.2.
