Alex Diaz drives the lane.

The Nocona Indians were unable to buy a basket Tuesday night falling to Class 4A Gainesville 51-45.

The tone for the evening was quickly set for Nocona when normally deadly Jason Sparkman went 0 for 4 from inside five feet as he would end the night with just 10 points on 3 of 17 shooting but pull down a massive 19 rebounds, 14 on the offense glass.

The shooting woes extended behind the tribe’s leading scorer as Nocona went 3 of 10 as a team in the first period trailing 6-11 after eight minutes.
