Doralinde Besteiro

Doraldine Naomi Besteiro of Nocona was born in Brownsville on July 11, 1948, to Doro and Mary Alice Besteiro. She was raised in Brownsville and died Sept. 20 in Nocona.

Doraldine attended Villa Maria Incarnate Ward and received her Associates Degree from North Dallas University. She also studied at Texas Women’s University and studied law for a short time.

Doraldine worked for Mobile Oil in Dallas, Dallas Independent School District and wrapped up her career working for FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency).

Later in life, Doraldine devoted most of her time to her Catholic faith. She loved nothing better than her strong belief in God. She was a lifetime member of Montserrat Jesuit Retreat at Lake Dallas which she attended yearly retreats for over 20 years and received a certificate of recognition for perfect attendance during that time.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Left to remember and honor her life are her ex-husband Michael Mullican of Nocona; three children; Diane Barrera Villafana and husband Bill Villafana of Rockwall, Teresa Barrera of Dallas and Michael Barrera and wife Jessica of Reed City, Mich.; four grandchildren: Jillian Barrera of San Antonio, Michael Barrera, Joshua Barrera and Christina Barrera all of Reed City, MI; siblings, Aly Besteiro of Brownsville; Noeli Besteiro and wife Mary Michelle of San Antonio, Nora Killinger and husband Gary of Austin, Daniel Besteiro and wife Pearl of Brownsville and Dee Besteiro of Yoakum.

A gathering to celebrate Doraldine’s life will be held at a later date.
