State program helps preserve local history

Texas Downtown Association, through the Anice Read Fund Grant, has awarded the City of Nocona a grant to restore facilities and put in place public art in the downtown area located at the historic McNabb Feed Store. Local artist Larry Lemons designed the artwork to be placed on the grain feeders which reflect the history of the building as well as the culture of the town. VFW Post 8558, revolution Electric and Luke’s Ace Hardware were the organizations that made all of this happen. “Thank you very much for your community service and time commitment to this project,” stated NEDC Executive Director Donna Culpepper, who helped secure the grant. “Also, the town would like to thank all the veterans for their military service and continued support of Nocona.”
