Split court approves new subdivision rules

MONTAGUE – After 90 minutes of discussion and debate Friday afternoon, County Judge Rick Lewis broke a 2-2 tie as the court approved new subdivision regulations for the county.
For more than six months the court has been examining its existing subdivision rules, which were amended in 2010, and debated various provisions in the rules including holding a contentious public hearing in July where members of the real estate industry voiced objections to the wording in the rules.
