TUCSON, Ariz. – Larry Gillihan, 70, of Tucson, Ariz., passed away Aug. 16, 2019, in that community from respiratory failure.

He was born Sept. 10, 1948, in Gadston, Ala., the son of the late Hershel and Ola Gillihan.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Gillihan; his parents, Hershel and Ola Gillihan; and a sister, Janice Gillihan.

He had recently retired as general manager of Authorized Technical Service in Tucson after almost 30 years of employment. He was a Skywarn Spotter during the 1980s while living in Nocona; past president and member of the Red River Rangers CB Club (his handle was Rascal); and was Scoutmaster for Troop 108 in Nocona and Troop 216 in Tucson; an ordeal member of the Order of the Year he held the Scouter’s Key and Silver Beaver award.

He loved to hunt, fish, work with Aaron’s horses, smoke a cigar and enjoy a cold Coors Light.

Larry is survived by: his sons Devin and wife Diana Gillihan and Aaron and wife Jennifer Gillian; grandsons Trevor Gillihan and Tyler Gillihan; a sister, Judy.

His askes will be spread alongside his wife Betty’s in the mountains.
