PV Board wants to see enrichment plan before approving flex-days

The Prairie Valley School Board tabled a proposal to go to a Flex-Monday, 4-day school week beginning with the  next academic year to allow the administration to present a proposed calendar of “enrichment” activities for the 19 proposed Flex-Mondays.

“We’re not doing this to get the teachers a day off, or ourselves a day off. What we’re trying to do is try to create things for the kids,” Supt. Tim West stressed to the board.

The board unanimously tabled the item during Monday’s teleconference board meeting held in adherence with Gov. Greg Abbott’s Covid-19 protocols for local government sessions.
