Opal Fay Brown, 89, died on Dec. 23, 2019, in Bowie.
Opal was born on Feb. 5, 1930, in Nocona to Henry & Mary Underwood Robertson.
Opal worked at the Nokona Athletic Goods for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nocona.
Opal married Doyce “Gobbler” Brown on June 18, 1948, in Henrietta
He preceded her in death along with her parents, brothers, R.C. Robertson, Floyd Joe Robertson, & Walter Robertson, and sisters, Louise Robertson, Lois McNeely and Ruth Green.
Opal is survived by her children, Sue Noble and husband Mike of Woodbridge, Vir., Garry Brown and wife Jan of Memphis, and Debbie Merz and husband Richard of Houston; sister, Sue Lasseter of Iowa Park; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren as well as her beloved cat, Sylvester.
There will be a visitation and service all held on Monday, Jan. 13, at the First Baptist Church in Nocona. The visitation will start at 1 p.m. and last until service time at 2p.m. with Rev. Dave Woodbury officiating. Interment will follow in Spanish Fort Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Glen Seay, Ray Beddingfield, Steve Williams, Robert Howington, Wayne Coats and Ken Koontz.
Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church in Nocona.
