Christmas events on tap
Make plans to take part in the Nocona Hometown Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 7.
Units will line up at the First Baptist Church Family Life Cente4r, corner of Cooke and Maple Streets, then head south of Clay Street concluding at the Downtown Park beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Santa and Mrs. Claus are the parade marshals again this year and will be meeting all the little children at the park.
Kids on bicycles and car clubs are welcome and encouraged to participate as well as floats and trailers.
The Nocona Rural Fire Department’s annual Fish Fry will get underway at 5 p.m. in the H.J. Justin Community Room immediately south of the Downtown Park.
Don’t forget about the drawings. Register at local merchants placing your entries in the red boxes placed by the Nocona Chamber of Commerce.
Prizes include two bicycles and a television. You must be present to win. More prizes are a possibility.

–Saturday, Dec. 7, Duhu’s Santa’s Workshop, $10 per child, cookie decorating, craft and Storytime, at 9:30. 10, 10:30, 11 and 11:30 a.m. and 12 or 12.:30 p.m. Veranda Bed and Breakfast. Limited space available, call 825-3526 to reserve your spot.
–Tuesday, Dec. 10, 6 p.m. “Toys! The Night They Came Alive” will be the 4th and 5th grade music program at the Nocona Elementary School Gym.
–Saturday, Dec. 14, and Sunday, Dec. 15, a t 6p.m. “What Kind of Throne,” a Christmas musical, will be presented by the First Baptist Church Choir.
