Lady Indians cage Lions

The Nocona Lady Indians won their second regular season basketball game Friday in as many attempts as the girls transition from volleyball to basketball by defeating Class 4A Vernon 78-55

The Lady Indians exploded with a 28 first period as Indians connected on five 3-pointers, two by junior Sydi Messer and one each by Trystin Fenoglio, Kylie Rose and Averee Kleinhans.

Kleinhans accounted for 11 points in the period off a traditional three-point play, 3 of 4 free throws after being fouled in the act of shooting, and a field goal.

Sophomore post Karlee Brown added a pair of field goals and Laci Stone hit 1 of 2 free throws to stake the Lady Indians to a commanding 28-12 lead.
